Frostbite News April 4, 2004 by Claudia Kondracky
It wasn't another wet and wild Sunday on the Connecticut River. The race committee tried to pull another one out of their collective hats to no avail. They started the Etchells who had some good air but the wind died. The Lasers tried to start but the R.C. canned the race seconds before the start. Those who were in great starting positions were disappointed but as the wind completely died, grateful. The JY's and 420's hung around the committee boat hoping. The Blue Jays hung around the entrance to the cove. Ed Birch who never listens to his wife's advice on the weather went in to get his foul weather pants. I'm sure Martha told him to not to forget them. The Blue Jay's wisely hung around there. We have some great pictures too which will be posted soon. Yep no action but plenty of smiles. Even Hobie the dog graced one of them. We're trying to get them up on the site. Remember that this week's sailing will be on Saturday in observance of Easter. Same bat place, same bat time. |
